Frequently asked questions

Can I really use a Russian Keyboard in Microsoft Excel without installing it?

Yes. The Russian Keyboard above runs in your browser. Type your text, click Copy, then paste into Microsoft Excel — that's all there is to it.

Will Microsoft Excel display the characters correctly?

Modern versions of Microsoft Excel render Unicode out of the box. If you ever see boxes (□□□), switch the font to a Unicode-complete face such as Noto, Arial Unicode MS or Segoe UI.

Does this method work on mobile Microsoft Excel?

Yes. Open this page in your phone's browser, type with the Russian Keyboard, tap Copy, then paste into the Microsoft Excel app on iOS or Android.

Is the text I paste into Microsoft Excel private?

Everything you type happens locally in your browser — TypeKeyboard does not send keystrokes anywhere. Once pasted into Microsoft Excel, normal Microsoft Excel privacy rules apply.
